Using the Roy Residents Directory
Roy has no single public roster of every person at every address. The useful trail is split by record purpose. The Weber County property search identifies a parcel and its titled owner. Geo-Gizmo shows the parcel beside nearby lots. Utah voter material can expose defined registration fields, while court, marriage, business, license and historical sources add dates or relationships. Each result has a different meaning, so a careful search keeps those meanings separate.
Use this five-part start when you have only a name, street, or family question.
- Search Weber County Parcel Search by owner, address, or parcel and save the parcel number.
- Open Geo-Gizmo to check the mapped parcel and nearby records geography.
- Use Utah Courts Xchange or the Weber marriage search when a case or relationship is the question.
- Move to Marriott, FamilySearch, or the Utah State Archives for older names and addresses.
- Ask the actual custodian through its counter, reference desk, phone route, or GRAMA process when no public index answers the question.
The result may show ownership, registration, a court party, or a historical household. It does not automatically establish who is present today.
Roy Resident Directory Across Weber
Roy is an incorporated Weber County city, but Ogden is the county seat. That geography explains the normal records path: a Roy address often leads to a Weber County office in Ogden, then to a statewide Utah system when the record is not county-held. Start with the county custodian named on the relevant portal rather than looking for a Roy-only archive that research did not locate.
This matters for older searches too. Roy’s official history names Central City, Sandridge, the Basin, and Lakeview as earlier place names before incorporation on March 10, 1937. A 19th-century census, newspaper, deed, or directory may use one of those labels. The regional Ogden and Weber title is often a better search term than “Roy directory.”
Offices Behind Roy Resident Directory
Four custodians form the practical front door for current Roy resident research. Their records answer different questions, and none should be treated as a complete resident list.
Weber Recorder / Surveyor
Deeds, plats, parcel links, title abstracts, address forms
For a record held by a county department but not posted online, Weber County’s GRAMA and NextRequest hub lists department routes. A written request should identify the custodian and describe a specific record.
Weber Parcel Search for Roy Resident Directory
The county property search is the strongest current address lead. The county services description supports searches by parcel, owner, or address. Once a result opens, preserve the parcel number and read both address fields. The official sample ownership page shows an owner, property address, mailing address, tax area, recording reference, prior parcels, plats, and a legal description.
| Search mode | Parcel, owner, or address |
|---|---|
| Result clues | Owner, situs/property address, mailing address, parcel number, tax area |
| History links | Current recording reference, prior parcels, plats, and legal description |
| Access | Free county search; contact the custodian for corrections or unavailable records |
Use the result as a property lead, not as proof of a current household. A tax mailing address can point to a different city, and an owner may not be the person who is present at the parcel. The separate sample ownership page makes that distinction visible.
For address-by-address work, the dedicated Roy street directory explains how the parcel number carries the search into deeds, plats, maps, and city records.
See the official Weber County property-search entry point before opening a county parcel result.

Current Roy Residents Directory Sources
Think of current directory sources as a set of partial views. The owner roll is not a voter roll, a court index is not an address book, and a business principal is not necessarily a household member. The table keeps those boundaries clear.
| Source | What It Can Show | Keeper | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parcel Search | Owner, parcel, property and mailing address | Weber Assessor / Recorder | Free online |
| Voter data | Defined name, address, year-of-birth, party and vote-history fields | Utah elections | Lookup or request, with limits |
| Recorded instruments | Grantor, grantee, date, legal description and references | Weber Recorder | Index, portal, counter, or abstract route |
| Marriage search | License data and copy options | Weber Clerk / Auditor | 1887 onward, access rules apply |
| Business and license search | Principals, agents, professions, status | Utah Commerce / DOPL | State portals |
Use a current source to answer the narrow question it actually covers. Then verify a name with a date, parcel, spouse, occupation, or other independent detail. This is more reliable than treating one public record as a full resident profile.
Address Fields in Roy Resident Directory
Weber County maintains distinct property-address and mailing-address workflows. The property address locates the parcel or structure. The mailing address receives tax notices and may belong to an owner somewhere else. A mismatch is a useful diagnostic, not an error to erase.
The county’s mailing-address change form requires a signed owner request and says changes are not made by phone. A property-address change or assignment asks for parcel, owner, city, requestor, change type, contact details, authorization, and electronic signature. Incorporated-city changes require city approval or an affidavit. The Weber addressing explanation is the right source for that distinction.
Search tip. If a Roy tax notice names another postal city, compare the situs address, parcel, municipal jurisdiction, and mailing record before joining two people or properties.
Roy Resident Directory Voter Data
Utah’s voter materials describe a defined public field set, not a public copy of every registration detail. Standard data may include name, physical and mailing address, year of birth, party affiliation, and vote history. Social Security number, state ID, email, full birth date, phone, and signature are private.
The statewide file request page gives a $1,050 price, tab-delimited delivery, and timing rules under Utah Code 20A-2-607. It also describes at-risk protections for eligible victims, law-enforcement officers, protective-order subjects, armed-forces members, public figures, and co-residents. A public web form may only support a person’s own registration task. For a list request, use the official Utah voter-data instructions and the county elections custodian.
| Public fields | Name, physical or mailing address, year of birth, party, vote history |
|---|---|
| Private fields | SSN, ID, email, full birth date, phone, signature |
| Protected people | Eligible at-risk voters may be withheld from public requestors |
Court Records in Roy Residents Directory
Utah Courts Xchange is a public case-summary route for district and justice courts. It can provide a party clue, case number, type, dates, attorneys, hearings, and an outcome when that information is public. It is not an unrestricted archive. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, and several private family-law categories do not appear, and some documents require payment.
Free access remains available at most district courthouses and the Utah State Law Library, even though online subscriptions and document images may be paid. If an online result is incomplete, ask the clerk about the case file or use the historical Archives route. The Xchange guest screen and the court access guide explain those channels.
The Utah Courts Xchange portal is the official starting point for a public case summary.

Use the Utah Commerce search hub for entities, principals, DBAs, trademarks, and UCC/CFS routes.

Marriage Records in Roy Resident Directory
The Weber County Clerk and Auditor says it holds original licenses issued by Weber County from 1887. Its marriage search asks for a first name, pre-marriage last name, and year or date range. Marriage data is generally free, a regular copy is $2, and a certified copy is $10. The public-access rule is 75 years, so newer records require an eligible route.
Choose the copy level based on the purpose. A free data result can establish that an event appears in the county index. A regular image supplies more detail. A certified copy is the formal copy level described by the county. For identity or family work, compare the license with a directory, obituary, deed, or census rather than assuming the names are unique.
Use the Weber marriage-license search for the county’s long-running marriage index.

For a state-level event request, use the Utah Vital Records ordering portal.

License Trails in Roy Resident Directory
A person search sometimes becomes clearer through a public business or professional record. Utah Commerce offers Business Entity Search, Registered Principal Search, DBA, trademark, and UCC/CFS routes. DOPL verifies a professional by name and profession or by license number plus its four-digit identifier, then shows fields such as city, profession, number, and status.
These records are useful for connecting a person to an organization or regulated credential. They do not convert a business address into a home address. The Commerce search hub and DOPL license lookup are the named state sources.
The Utah license verification form shows the profession and license-number search paths.

Historical Roy Residents Directory Sources
The historical shelf is regional. Marriott’s Utah City Directories collection includes Ogden and Weber volumes containing Roy, including a 1974 Polk volume with 1,445 pages and later runs identified through 1982/83. FamilySearch catalogs an 1879–80 Utah directory or gazetteer, an 1883 Ogden and Weber directory, and Ogden microfilm from 1890–1901. A separate Roy-only run was not verified.
Search the title, then the city or suburb section. Use the Roy directory book for the collection years, street pages, entry marks, and household tracing method.
Roy’s 1850 Census Starting Point
Utah State Archives created a searchable index for the 1850 Federal Census Weber County population schedule and links names to images. The first federal Weber enumeration records names, gender, age, birthplace, and occupation across the original 28-page schedule. It is an early baseline before a modern Roy label existed.
The Archives also identifies a Weber Second District civil-action index from 1851–1969 and probate case files from 1852–1887. An index hit may still require a reference request for the underlying file. Use the Weber 1850 census index for a name, then compare the locality label and household details with later directory years.
Protected Addresses Need Care
Utah Safe at Home gives eligible survivors a legal substitute address and mail forwarding through a certified program assistant. The actual home and mailing address, city or county, precinct, phone, and unique address information are confidential. Participation and the substitute address are not themselves fully confidential. Enrollment is no-cost and lasts four years before renewal.
Weber’s Recorder also links a Records Protection Form. Do not assume every owner qualifies for redaction. The custodian decides whether a request meets the law. If a result seems to identify a protected person, stop the search and do not publish or circulate it.
Read the Utah Attorney General registry page for the official offender-registry and VINE route, rather than treating a roster as a complete people list.

Official Unclaimed Property Search
Utah Treasurer’s MyCash search is a different kind of name lead. The form accepts a last or business name and an optional first name. A result is only a possible connection. A claimant must provide documentation through the state process, and the official search is free.
Use MyCash Utah directly. The Treasurer lists 801-715-3300, 888-217-1203, claim@upsupport.utah.gov, and a Salt Lake City mailing address. Do not pay an intermediary to search a free state database.
When the Web Index Stops
GRAMA is Utah’s Government Records Access and Management Act, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2. A request under section 63G-2-204 should name the requester, provide contact details, identify the record with reasonable specificity, and go to the entity that keeps it. Weber County says department contacts and its NextRequest route are available through the county transparency page.
The response can approve, deny, identify another custodian, or give an extraordinary-circumstance notice. The general outer timing described in the research is ten business days, with a possible five-business-day expedited path when public benefit is shown. GRAMA does not require a custodian to create a new record or release protected material.
The Weber County GRAMA page gives the request route and department email contacts.

Roy’s Locality Names Before 1937
Search history by place label as well as by person. Roy settlement began in 1873, its post office opened May 24, 1894, and the city incorporated in 1937. Central City, Sandridge, the Basin, and Lakeview can therefore be useful alternate terms in old newspapers, census indexes, directory pages, and land records.
Mid-century growth connected Roy to nearby military and industrial facilities, including Hill Air Force Base and the Defense Supply Depot. That context can explain household turnover in a directory, but an individual’s affiliation still needs its own record. For older address work, preserve the printed spelling and compare age, occupation, relationship, and parcel clues.
Check the Record, Then Stop
A public result is a lead, not a license to assemble a private dossier. Confirm a material fact with the office that holds it, use only lawful personal or family-history purposes, and respect records withheld through Safe at Home, voter protections, sealed court categories, vital-record eligibility, or other law.
Lawful use. Roy records are for legitimate personal, family-history, civic, and safety research. Do not use a name or address result to stalk, harass, intimidate, or harm another person.
For a street, switch to the address-led search. For a person, compare two or more record types. For a past household, start with the parcel and move into the regional directory shelf.
