Privacy Policy

Roy Residents Directory is a private reference site. This policy explains the small amount of information that may pass through the website, what third-party tools control, and where requests about public records must go. Records held by Weber County, Roy City, Utah courts, elections, vital records, libraries, and archives are governed by those custodians’ own rules.

Data You Send Directly

If you contact us, we receive the details in your message and use them to answer. Search-box submissions are handled by the third-party provider that powers the result, not by a private database maintained by this reference.

Automatic Technical Data

Hosting services may record ordinary server information such as IP address, browser type, page requested, and time of request. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where enabled. We use aggregate information to maintain the pages, not to build a personal resident profile.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the website, or to respond to a message. We do not sell a visitor list or create an account-based directory of readers.

External Search Destinations

Links lead to Weber County, Roy, Utah state, court, library, archive, and other record systems. Their own privacy notices govern submissions made there. Sponsored search tools are also controlled by their provider, including its data practices, pricing, and retention.

Who May Process It

Hosting, analytics, security, and advertising vendors may process the technical information needed for their service. Information may be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. We do not disclose a message for unrelated purposes.

Security Measures

The website uses an encrypted connection where available. Logs are kept only as long as the operational need or provider practice requires. There are no reader passwords or personal profiles stored here.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Your Utah Data Rights

Where it applies, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, provides rights that can include access, deletion, portability, and opting out of targeted advertising or sale of personal data. Applicability depends on the controller and the statutory thresholds. Because this reference keeps little information, send a request through the Contact page and identify the data at issue.

Government records are different. Public records held by Weber County, Roy City, or a Utah state custodian are outside our control. A request to correct or remove one must go to that custodian under its process. Utah’s Government Records Access and Management Act, Utah Code Title 63G, Chapter 2, governs many state and local access questions, but it does not require release of protected records.

Policy Changes
